Tammie (she/her) is a registered Mental Health Occupational Therapist with over 20 years experience. She is endorsed to provide Medicare-rebated services under the Better Access to Mental Health scheme.
Tammie is passionate about maximising the wellbeing of teenagers and young adults, whose lives have been interrupted by illness – either physical or emotional. Tammie is also invested in teaching the next generation of mental health OT's in her role as Tutor/Lecturer and Mental Health Stream Coordinator at the University of Queensland, St Lucia.
Tammie provides developmentally-sensitive therapies for teenagers and young adults, in a creative and safe environment. and believes in the power of humour and creative activities as tools for therapy.

Tammie operates from an Acceptance Commitment Therapy framework, helping young people to develop their noticing skills (mindfulness), and empowering them to move towards living a more meaningful and authentic life.
Tammie is a lively, dynamic group facilitator and presenter.
Prior to working in private practice (~2018) Tammie has worked extensively in psychosocial services at the Mater Hospital (South Brisbane). Tammie worked at the Young Adult Support Unit where she developed a life skills program for young people with chronic illness. Prior to this role, she helped develop the role of psychosocial occupational therapists in the Mater Mother's Hospitals - providing individual and group interventions for antenatal and postnatal mums. Tammie has achieved certification with Possum's Neurodevelopmental Protective Care program and absolutely loved helping create families and empower mothers. She helped establish and volunteered at the Redlands Centre for Women for over a decade, including serving on the board as the Founding President. Tammie thoroughly enjoyed facilitating support groups for teenage mums, providing case management and running teenage girl empowerment programs.
Outside of work, Tammie is busy parenting her own teenagers and puppy, enjoys family time (camping, shopping, sewing), catching up with girlfriends, or being a part time swimsuit model.
She really believes in the magical powers of a nice hot cup of tea.
